Commissioning request for an online mental health and wellbeing service for our school.
My name is (name) I am the [position] at [school] School in (local authority)
I am writing this letter to request that Public Health commission Zumos wellbeing to deliver a universal resilience and wellbeing programme in schools. Because of our school’s need for a proactive broad-spectrum approach to mental health issues to prevent problems from arising before they occur, we would like to engage the services of the Zumos wellbeing.
The Zumos Wellbeing Project is an online support system which has been developed in collaboration with CAMHS and has been designed to build and maintain emotional resilience and self-confidence in our students before crisis point is reached. It can be accessed on any device connected to the internet, including smart phones, and gives children approved support and guidance inside and outside of school 24 hours a day.
Every learner who logs onto the platform has anonymous access to a whole range of expert written vocal recordings on any issue our students might be facing and to all the further help that students might need, in the form of web links, help lines, reading material, video support. The platform gives the school total control of the content available and runs recognised evaluations through its quiz feature so that the school can have appropriate and proportionate interventions, measure the change effected and put limited resources to better use.
The Zumos Wellbeing Project fully aligns with the research findings from Future in Mind, the 2015 report of the cross-Government Children and Young People’s Mental Health Taskforce, that many schools are developing whole school approaches to promoting resilience and improving emotional wellbeing, preventing mental health problems from arising and providing early support where they do. Research shows growing evidence that school-based activities have benefits in terms of increasing knowledge and confidence, and improves mental health symptoms.
I believe that the Zumos Wellbeing Project meets all our requirements for a comprehensive broad spectrum, effective resilience building programme with a focus on prevention and promoting wellbeing. Running the project enables more of our young people to fulfil their potential by addressing issues at the earliest possible stage and improves the school as a place that matters to the community.
Yours sincerely
